Seeking beauty and truth in India

Tonight I am giving a talk, "Searching for truth and beauty in science and in Jesus," to a group of scientists in Bangalore. The talk starts with looking at views of two prominent Indian scientists, Sudarshan and Chandrasekhar, and then moves to looking at John 1:1-18. The main point is the suggestion that the grace of God found in Jesus is an example of the beauty that Chandrasekhar discussed in art and science.
The slides are here.
I welcome comments, particularly from Indians.

  1. Why does everything have to turn out to be about "Jesus"? Especially as "Jesus" was never-ever in any sense a Christian!

This essay about actually REALIZING The Beautiful, contains some references to the nature of Quantum Reality, as extended from the revolutionary cultural implications of Einstein's famous E=MC2 equation.

In one way or another this reference describes the dreadful state of the humanly created world, created by and as an inevitable extension of the dismal anti-ecstatic reductionist "realism" that mis-informs ALL of Western culture, especially the kind of reductionist anti-Spiritual exoteric religion that you promote.

As does this reference - in a different but complementary way.

This reference provides an even more SHOCKING description what Western "culture" in both its secular and so called religious forms, is REALLY all about.

  2. Hi Sue

Normally I don't comment, but your statements are fascinating to me, so I'll make an exception. You state:
Why does everything have to turn out to be about "Jesus"? Especially as "Jesus" was never-ever in any sense a Christian!
You do realise that the AIM of Ross's talks is to talk about Jesus? So, not really surprising that it is all about Jesus. Also, Can you clarify, what do you think a Christian is and who do you think Jesus is?
    You also state:
In one way or another this reference describes the dreadful state of the humanly created world, created by and as an inevitable extension of the dismal anti-ecstatic reductionist "realism" that mis-informs ALL of Western culture, especially the kind of reductionist anti-Spiritual exoteric religion that you promote.
Ross is not a reductions, but promotes emergence in opposition to reductionism, see:

so your comments do not apply to him.

Finally, I read your links, some of it is interesting, nut most of it are just assertions and opinion. No actual evidence is given.

How about, if you wish to discuss something, you give one or two points with evidence (links are fine, but give us the gist of the link) and I'm sure your viewpoint will be more convincing.

    Regards
    BM
