At the
Cite conference last week, the plenary speaker Daryl McCarthy reminded me of two distinguished intellectuals and statesman who strove to have their lives, philosophies, and policies shaped by their theology. The Wikipedia entries on
Charles Malik and
Abraham Kuyper are fascinating reading. Amongst many other things Malik was a President of the General Assembly of the United Nations and Kuyper was a Prime Minister of Holland.
